Water Department

Brandon currently serves water to approximately 7200 residents and businesses.    Brandon's water operator, Eddie Nelson, has over 20 years experience in the maintenance and operations of our system.  Brandon's Water is pumped by wells from aquifers deep into the ground.  Brandon has seven wells, four tanks and one standpipe. A new well has recently been constructed on Marquette Road.  The Mississippi State Department of Health requires that a Consumer Confidence Report which states the quality of our water, be mailed by July 1st of each year.  This report will also be available online.  Our billing department is located at city hall.  Bills are mailed on the 5th day of the month and due by the 20th.  Payments may be made by cash, checks, bank draft or credit card (in person only).

Sewer Department

The City of Brandon serves approximately 6700 residents and businesses with sewer service.  Plans are underway at this time for sewer expansion in parts of East & South Brandon.  Brandon, along with the cities of Pearl, Flowood, Richland, and the Pearl River Valley Authority have formed the West Rankin Metro Authority that maintains the interceptor lines that pump sewerage to the Savannah Street treatment plant in Jackson.  The charges that appear on your monthly bill help to maintain the pumps and lines at a local level, and also help to pay for the operation and maintenance of the interceptor lines and facilities.
