The City of Brandon maintains over 110 miles of streets and right-of-ways; however, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) maintains Highways, 80, 18, 471, 468, and Interstate 20 through the city limits. The City also maintains the designated easements for drainage throughout the City. If any problems or concerns occur with City managed streets, right-of-ways, or ditches, please contact the Public Works Department in order for us to prepare a work order and have someone to come and assess the situation.
Traffic or signal lights are also maintained by MDOT. If a traffic light is malfunctioning or not working at all, please contact the MDOT Signal Division at (601) 359-1493. Street lights, however, are maintained by our local power supply companies, Entergy and Southern Pine. If a street light is out, please report the outage to the energy provider for that area.
