The City of Brandon Storm Team consists of National Weather Service Certified Storm Spotter personnel from the Fire, Police, Public Works Departments. The City of Brandon was the first City in Mississippi to become designated Storm Ready by the National Weather Service in 2000.
The City of Brandon has 19 Federal 2-way Digital outdoor warning sirens. Remember Outdoor Warning Sirens are designed to warn you during outdoor activities, Do not depend on them for your only sourse for recieving Tornado Warnings. NOAA weather radios should be in every home to wake you during Severe Weather events while indoors, especially at night.
