“fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, fried okra and tomato, with a glass of sweet tea, and flip a coin between the Oreo pudding and banana pudding.”
On a recent trip to Remember When, we visited with manager Brittney McAllister. Brittney’s grandmother, Annie France Wilson, and great-great aunt, “Baby Ruth,” started serving delicious home cooking in Downtown Brandon over 40 years ago. Today, Remember When is owned by Brittney’s mother Barbara McAllister.
Carry out, yes! Dine in, yes! One thing many people may not realize is that Remember When caters. Remember When caters weddings, receptions, parties, and general events. And you may ask, for whom do they cater? Before the football game against NW Rankin today, Remember When will be catering the Brandon Bulldog football team with a menu of chicken strips, green beans, and macaroni and cheese.
What does the chef recommend when you come? She said, “fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, fried okra and tomato, with a glass of sweet tea, and flip a coin between the Oreo pudding and banana pudding.”
To find out more information about Remember When’s good food and friendly service, you can visit them downtown at 203 Mary Ann Drive beside First United Methodist Church. They are open from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm Sunday through Friday. You can also like them on Facebook at RememberWhenInc.
