Boil Water Alert – 3-25-2015

BOIL WATER ALERT LIFTED FOR CUSTOMERSĀ IN SPEERS CROSSING, CORNERSTONE, ORCHARDVIEW SUBDIVISIONS, AND THE PORTION OF AMBIANCE SUBDIVISION THAT IS SERVICED BY BRANDON.

Local officials lifted the boil water notice for people who get drinking water from the CITY OF BRANDON located in RANKIN COUNTY.

Users were first advised to boil their drinking water on March 25, 2015, when the system lost pressure due to a company hitting the city water main while performing a road bore. The areas affected were along Highway 471 from Value Road to Luckney Road, and also Orchardview Subdivision, Speers Crossing Subdivision, Cornerstone Subdivision and the portion of Ambiance Subdivision that is serviced by the City of Brandon.

Multiple samples analyzed by the Mississippi State Department of Health Public Health Laboratory indicate the water now meets the standards of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Local officials today issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers who get their drinking water from the CITY OF BRANDON located in RANKIN COUNTY. Darion Warren, spokesperson for the water system, stated this precautionary action was necessary because the system lost pressure due to a company hitting the city water main while performing a road bore. This affects approximately 609 customers along Highway 471 from Value Road to Luckney Road, and also Orchardview Subdivision, Speers Crossing Subdivision, Cornerstone Subdivision and the portion of Ambiance Subdivision that is serviced by the City of Brandon.
